Wow. What a day.
Today was one of those days that you just knew you had to be a part of, even if you didn’t really know how to manage it. It was one of those days where you took off of work and dealt with the consequences after the fact. Fortunately for me, I was able to take Thursday off to help my school newspaper cover President Barack Obama’s trip to Orlando.
In case you missed the big announcement, 101.1 WJRR has announced the lineup for their annual ‘Earthday Birthday’ concert series. This year’s concert will mark the first time in recent memory that the event will not be held at Tinker Field in downtown Orlando.
With the news that two UCF Knights would be entering the NFL draft this year, we decided to channel our inner Bleacher Report and run down the top 10 Knights players to have played in the NFL.
This past week saw both Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson announce their intentions to declare for the NFL draft, so we figured there isn’t a better time to run down the top 10 best Knights in school history.
The NFL announced on Saturday that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Bruno Mars on stage at Super Bowl XLVIII. The official announcement was that Mars invited the Cali.-based band to join him on stage.
After last week’s upset win over sixth-ranked Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl, the UCF Knights found themselves ranked 10th in the final AP rankings of the season.
Despite the Knights’ 52-42 win last week, two AP voters weren’t comfortable ranking the Knights over the Bears.
After leading the UCF Knights to its best season in school history, quarterback Blake Bortles has decided to leave school and enter the 2014 NFL Draft. Bortles is expected to officially announce his decision on Monday.
The UCF Knights are starting to gain recognition from everyone in college football, including Heisman winner, Jameis Winston.
Speaking at BCS Media Day on Saturday, Winston praised UCF’s strong season.
UCF has announced its plan to host a free pep rally to honor their football team, the school announced Saturday in a press release.
New Orleans Pelicans center Ryan Anderson left Friday night’s game in Boston on a stretcher after colliding with Celtics forward Gerald Wallace.
The incident happened when Anderson tried to get open to catch an inbounds pass, but was hit from behind by Wallace in attempt to steal the pass. It appeared on replay that Wallace and Anderson’s heads banged together with Anderson’s head catching bad whiplash.

The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs lead the NFL in players that will represent them next month in the Pro Bowl, the NFL announced on Friday.
This Pro Bowl is the first in which players were selected by position and not by conference affiliation. The league announced earlier this season that the teams will be divided up via a fantasy football-type draft with Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice selecting the teams.
