After months of delays, Rihanna just dropped her long-awaited new single this morning! The surprise release of “Work” (featuring Drake) comes just two days after Rihanna posted a tweet saying, “Listening to ANTI.”
By now we all know Kendrick Lamar‘s rise to fame. He became a household name after his debut (?) album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City sold 242,000 copies in the first week of release in 2012. The album featured guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Drake, Jay Rock and Mary J. Blige (on the deluxe version) and earned high-praise from critics. K.Dot followed up Good Kid, M.A.A.D City with another critically-acclaimed hit with To Pimp a Butterfly earlier this year.
Prior to Kendrick’s mainstream success with M.A.A.D City and Butterfly, he caught the attention of hip-hop heads with successful mixtapes like Training Day, C4, Overly Dedicated and Section.80. There is even an ongoing argument about which album was truly his debut. Was it Section.80 or M.A.A.D City?
Regardless of where you stand on that debate (I say M.A.A.D City), Kendrick has also become one of the most sought-after artists to work with. He’s appeared as a guest on songs with Eminem, Drake, 50 Cent, Game, Pusha T and Schoolboy Q to name a few. With that being said, here’s a look at some of Kendrick Lamar’s best guest appearances to date (offered without comment).
2. Schoolboy Q feat. Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul – “Blessed”
1. Game feat. Kendrick Lamar – “The City”
“1Train” – A$AP Rocky feat. Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson and Big K.R.I.T.
“Autumn Leaves” – Chris Brown feat. Kendrick Lamar
“Catch a Fade” – E-40 feat. Kendrick Lamar and Droop-E
“We Up” – 50 Cent feat. Kendrick Lamar
With so many options to choose from, it really is easier said than done trying to pick his 10 best guest appearances. K.Dot has remained relatively quiet in 2015, opting to focus mainly on the new album while still managing to sneak in a few appearances with Snoop Dogg and Taylor Swift.
You may feel the need to debate this top 10, but is there really a bad Kendrick Lamar verse? You can argue that just about any verse is deserving of a mention.
As a Jaguars fan, I was more than ecstatic to learn the team drafted Bortles with the third overall pick over the summer. Bortles proved that he was the most NFL-ready quarterback to come out of the draft after opting to throw at the Combine and there was hope for Jaguars fans.
Following UCF’s 26-24 loss to Penn State on Saturday, many were left wondering where to point the blame. A team not used to losing seems to have more questions than answers, and luckily the Knights have just under two weeks to regroup and find those answers.
Today was one of those days that you just knew you had to be a part of, even if you didn’t really know how to manage it. It was one of those days where you took off of work and dealt with the consequences after the fact. Fortunately for me, I was able to take Thursday off to help my school newspaper cover President Barack Obama’s trip to Orlando.
In case you missed the big announcement, 101.1 WJRR has announced the lineup for their annual ‘Earthday Birthday’ concert series. This year’s concert will mark the first time in recent memory that the event will not be held at Tinker Field in downtown Orlando.

This past week saw both Blake Bortles and Storm Johnson announce their intentions to declare for the NFL draft, so we figured there isn’t a better time to run down the top 10 best Knights in school history.
The NFL announced on Saturday that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Bruno Mars on stage at Super Bowl XLVIII. The official announcement was that Mars invited the Cali.-based band to join him on stage.
